What will you do at Willen Lake this Summer?
The Summer Holidays are fast approaching and Willen Lake is waiting for you. Whatever the family is searching for this summer, be that excitement, adventure, chills or thrills, there’s something at Willen Lake for everyone.
Endless entertainment?
Let our instructors handle the entertaining with our Summer Activity Weeks. Over the course of a week, children will get to sample the different activities around the lake including high ropes, paddleboarding, archery and raft-building. Alternatively, they can work towards a sailing qualification on an RYA Youth Activity Week, whether they’re learning to sail or advancing their skills.
If you can’t commit to the full week, then Activity Days are a great alternative. The fun continues on weekends with our regular programme of Watersports Academy on Saturdays and Junior Sailing Club on Sundays. Both of these weekend clubs run on a flexible, drop-in basis.
Longing for excitement?
Nothing beats Splash ‘n’ Play on a hot summer’s day. Let the kids loose at our enclosed outdoor splash park, with general sessions running on the hour between 11am – 4pm every day throughout the school holidays.
Get the adrenaline flowing and take on the high ropes course over at Treetop Extreme. With three height levels to choose from, anyone aged six and above and over 1.1 metres tall can take part. It makes for an exhilarating experience, finishing with the thrilling Treetop Drop: a 13-metre freefall simulator.
Awaiting a new adventure?
Try a new activity with a beginner-friendly Discover sessions. Throughout the 90-minute session, the team of friendly instructors will cover the basic skills of your chosen activity. These sessions are available in archery, kayaking, paddleboarding or sailing, and are suitable for anyone aged eight and above.
Making memories?
Take a ride across the lake on a unicorn, dragon, flamingo or swan with Boat Hire. And it’s not just pedalos that are available: see if you can stay standing on a paddleboard or test your teamwork on a double kayak. The Watersports Centre will be open for hire every day between 11am – 5pm, weather permitting.
Gather a group for an adventure at Aqua Parcs. The inflatable course has gotten even bigger and better with the addition of the ‘Extreme’ section! See Milton Keynes from a new perspective with a spin on the Willen Observation Wheel, or take a trip around the lake with Adventure Cycle Hire.
Relax and chill?
Sit back, stay dry and watch the action on the lake from the Bar & Kitchen. Stop by in the morning for coffees, pastries and breakfast or enjoy lunch on the terrace with drinks, light bites and pizzas on the menu this Summer.
Or simply enjoy a picnic and walk, cycle or scoot around the lake for a low-cost day out. The large, free to use Play Area promises imaginative play.
