Fishing
Milton Keynes Angling Association is the local coarse (non-trout) angling body, making fishing available on the majority of waters where angling is allowed in and around the city. Run by volunteers, MKAA is a non-profit distributing organisation which puts all its income back into the sport. All reasonably behaved people who want to share the pleasures of fishing are welcome. To fish on MK waters, anglers must hold a rod licence and be a member of the MKAA. Venues include Parks Trust lakes Furzton, Willen, Caldecotte, Lodge and Teardrops.
MKAA membership also includes around nine of the 12 miles of canal through MK, much of the River Ouzel and the Upper Great Ouse including sections of Stony Ouse and parts of the River Ouse at Wolverton including Wolverton Mill.

Please note the annual close season for fishing runs from 15th March to 15th June inclusive. During this period Lodge Lake, Caldecotte Lake South and adjacent River Ouzel, River Ouzel at Willen Lake and the River Ouse are closed to anglers.
Anglers are welcome to use bivvies whilst fishing in the parks but tents are not permitted.
There are one other club operating on Parks Trust land; Deanshanger and the Stratfords Angling Association (DATS). DATS permit covers the stretch of river at Old Stratford, contact club secretary Terry Valentine on 01908 565446 for permit information.
Crayfishing
Crayfishing is allowed on some of the lakes and rivers in Milton Keynes. Anyone wanting to trap for crayfish must obtain a permission from the Environment Agency and landowners permission must be obtained through Milton Keynes Angling Association before trapping crayfish in MK waters.
