    About Newlands

Newlands is a great location to build into a wider walk along the linear parkland, as not only does it sit between Campbell Park and Willen Lake, but it also leads through to Woolstone and the Ouzel Valley Park to the south. Be sure to walk along the canal on the western side of Newlands and look at the boats which are moored there.

Newlands boasts some notable trees, with lines of Poplars along the canal and a developing avenue of Hornbeam elsewhere in the parkland. There is also a small pond which functions as overspill for the canal – this is often dry in summer.

    Newlands Remembrance Walk

As of January 2021, the area of this park which links Campbell Park to Willen Lake, is dedicated as a special place of remembrance. An avenue of 48 Lime trees line either side of the way walk and further tree planting will follow along with the creation of wildflower meadow. Find out more about the Newlands Remembrance Walk here.
