Keep boredom at bay this May Half Term
If you’re looking for ways to keep the kids entertained this May Half Term, then look no further than Willen Lake. Our first Activity Week of the season will be running, so you can drop off the kids and let our instructors take care of the rest! They’ll get to experience the best that Willen Lake has to offer, with plenty of activities and games to keep them busy all day long.
Weekends suit better? We have regular weekend clubs for 8-15 year olds, operating on a drop-in basis. Watersports Academy offers the chance to sample a different activity each week, whilst Junior Sailing Club allows participants to progress towards confidently sailing solo.
There’s plenty of action happening on the water with a few new faces to the scene. New for 2023 is the Family Paddle Half Day, the perfect paddleboarding experience for families. Over the course of three hours, you’ll pick up the basics of paddleboarding and get in some group practice on a mega paddleboard or multi-seater katakanu.
Additionally, new double kayaks have been arrived at the Watersports Centre, ready for hire this Half Term. The usual favourites will also be available, including our funky fleet of pedalos, paddleboards and single kayaks. Boat Hire is available first come first served every day 11am – 5pm.
If you’re looking to try something new, our introductory Discover sessions are the perfect fit. Available in Paddleboarding, Kayaking and Sailing, these 90-minute sessions are suitable for the total beginner, offering the chance to pick up a new hobby.
Let off some steam on the recently extended Aqua Parcs, the inflatable course on the water. The new addition for 2023 is the Extreme section, which includes ‘The Mammoth’: a towering feature with giant slides and a thrilling five metre cliff jump
Adventures on land are available at Treetop Extreme, where thrill-seekers can take on exhilarating high ropes course. Scale the climbing wall, scramble through 16+ obstacles and scream as you experience the Treetop Drop, a 13-metre freefall from the top of the course!
Anyone looking to keep their feet firmly on the ground can give Archery a go. If you’ve got younger visitors in tow, they can let off some steam at Splash ‘n’ Play, our outdoor splash park with over 60 unique water features.
