Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems
The parkland includes a number of ponds that are designed as a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS).
SUDS are designed to store water run-off from roads, paths, car parks and roofs during and after periods of heavy rainfall. The water is stored in dry ditches (swales), ponds and wetlands and then released at a controlled rate into Shenley Brook and eventually Furzton Lake. The water levels in the ponds are carefully designed to fluctuate and in extreme weather can rise.

There is no public car parking associated with the parkland at Oxley Park.

There are surfaced footpaths throughout the linear parkland.
