Rainy Artwork 2 Ways
A fun rainy day activity to do with your little ones. Let nature do the hard work and create a watercolour painting for you!
What you will need:
- Watercolour paper (available at craft stores)
- Washable markers
- Food colouring
- Tray
How to:
With washable markers:
Have your child colour the watercolour paper with washable markers. Place the paper in a tray and leave outside in the rain. Watch as the colours spread as the rain hits the paper!
With food colouring:
Place the paper into the tray and head outside with your food colouring. Try and catch as many drops of water as you can on your paper first. Once the paper is pretty damp and the tray is containing some water, drop some colours all around the page. Tip the tray in different directions to watch the colour swirl around the page!
As watercolour paper is very durable, this can be left to dry so that you can admire your rainy artwork forever.
