Heritage in our Parks
The Parks Trust are responsible for many pieces of significant local heritage and scheduled ancient monuments in Milton Keynes. Some notable historic sites include the 19th Century Brick Kilns at Great Linford Manor Park, the outlines of Bancroft Roman Villa at North Loughton Valley Park, the ruins of St Peters Church at Stanton Low Park, and the remains of a motte and bailey castle at Shenley Toot.
Our parks also have many scheduled ancient monuments, displaying the rich local heritage that tells the story of Milton Keynes' past. Most of these structures are listed as earthworks and moated sites that give glimpses of what the city used to look like, such as the signs of medieval castles, villages, ponds and other impressive structures.
