History talk about Great Linford
Featuring many rare photographs and documents, this in-depth illustrated presentation will take the viewer on a journey through the park and village.
From its earliest beginnings and a mention in the Domesday book of 1086, you will see how things have changed in the village over the centuries and meet some important figures it its history, such as the Reverend Doctor Richard Napier and the London rope merchant, Lord Mayor and Parliamentarian Sir William Pritchard.
You will also take a virtual walk along the historic High Street of 120 years ago, seeing how the houses once looked, and discovering the fascinating stories of those who lived and worked in the village.
Time: 3pm
Meeting Place: St. Andrew's Church, Great Linford, MK14 5DZ.
Price: This talk is free but donations to the Friends of Great Linford Manor Park are welcome.
Parking: There are limited parking spaces on the approach to the park from Parklands (see above). Otherwise, please park at the Memorial Hall car park, off Marsh Drive and leave the Arts Centre car park free. Click here for a What 3 Words location.
