Green Flag Award - Media
18 July 2023

Today we are proud to celebrate the seventh consecutive time winning the prestigious Green Flag Award for our entire network of linear parks we manage and for the second year in a row, Great Linford Manor Park has achieved the Green Heritage Site Accreditation award for its historic features.

The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world. This year a record number of parks and green spaces across the UK have reached the high standards required to receive a coveted Green Flag Award, and we are proud to be amongst them.

The scheme’s Green Heritage Site Accreditation awards are specific to places of physical, social and cultural historic interest where efforts have been made to preserve, develop and share that history with visitors. Great Linford Manor Park has been recognised again this year for its local and national significance.

Our Operations Manager, James Cairncross, said "It’s always a privilege to receive the Green Flag Award as this recognises the hard work our team, volunteers and contractors undertake to ensure that our parkland and greenspaces are maintained to a high standard and are enjoyable for the residents of Milton Keynes. We are also delighted to again have received the Green Heritage Site Accreditation for our newly restored park at Great Linford Manor Park"
