The Horseshoes

GLMP Horseshoes Public Art Media.jpg

The Grand Union canal was cut through Great Linford Manor estate in 1800. In the early days canal boats were towed along by workhorses and the canal was used for transporting materials, such as bricks made locally, between London and Birmingham. Nowadays the canal is used for leisure purposes. The early heritage of the canal has been interpreted through 5 metal horseshoe sculptures, created by Arcangel.
