Statement on Coronavirus

Updated 30th March

In order to reduce the spread of Coronavirus and protect lives, we must all follow the Government’s guidelines in relation to COVID-19.

For the latest information, please refer to the Government website:

Please find our latest updates below;

Use of the parks

At all times, you should observe social distancing which means staying at least 2 metres apart from other people you do not live with. You should not meet indoors with anyone not in your household or social bubble. From Monday 29th March you can meet in a group of 6 or up to 2 households (including their support bubbles) outdoors. This includes private outdoor spaces, such as gardens, and other outdoor public places and venues.

If you feel unwell, or anyone in your household has symptoms, we ask that you please do not attend any of our parks and follow the Government advice to self-isolate.

Events and activities

From Monday 29th March some of our smaller, ticketed events and activities will be be able to resume with social distancing and Covid-19 secure measures in place (subject to change in line with government guidelines). If you have booked for an event after this date but you no longer wish to attend, please get in touch with our team on

Please refer to our what’s on page for the latest updates – we will contact and refund ticket holders as soon as possible if cancellations apply.

Some third party activities such as fitness groups and watersports clubs can resume in the parks from Monday 29th March albeit with restrictions in place. The rule of 6 does not apply to fitness groups and they can operate in the parks in groups of up to 30 people in line with government guidance. Please note, all fitness operators require a license to trade in the parks - find out more here on how to apply.

School sessions with our Outdoor Learning team will resume from Monday 12th April in your schools' bubble groups. Please contact to discuss your requirements.

Play areas and outdoor gym equipment

Play areas have remained open under the latest lockdown restrictions. Our Outdoor Gym Equipment will be available for use from Monday 29th March subject to government guidance. Find out more here.

Our work and our staff

The majority of our landscape maintenance work can continue as planned with some additional safety measures in place. We continue to follow the latest government advice regarding safe working practices.

Our Volunteers

Our volunteering programme can now resume with some restrictions in place to ensure the latest government guidance is followed. Some group volunteering tasks will return in April 2021 for those who wish to participate. We ask that our volunteers only continue volunteering with us if they feel safe to do so, they are not in the extremely clinically extremely vulnerable group and they are not having to self-isolate. Any enquiries relating to volunteering can be sent to

We will continue to follow latest government advice and will update our statements and website as soon as we know more.  In the meantime, please keep safe.
