Buckingham Canal Society is a local charity working to restore the Buckingham canal between Cosgrove and Buckingham.

They are planning a special project this month to plant a wildflower bed along the canal bank we are restoring and need to prepare the site. 

The Buckingham Canal Society a local charity working to restore the Buckingham Canal will be running practical task work parties at our Hyde Lane Nature Reserve site preparing the area so that wildflower beds can be planted later in the year along the canal bank.

Upcoming tasks:

  • construction work parties at Cosgrove every Tuesday and Thursdays 9am – 3pm
  • conservation work parties at Hyde Lane, near Buckingham fortnightly on Thursdays 10am – 3pm (next one is 3rd Feb)
  • monthly work party on the 2nd Sunday of each month 10am – 3pm (various sites – check website for details)

Meeting at 10.00am and finish around 3pm, please bring lunch.

The work may continue into December.

All tools and equipment are provided but we ask people to please bring their own gloves.   All Covid risk assessments are in place.

A very friendly group that always welcome new volunteers!

 

They run practical task work parties on Tuesdays, Thursdays and the second Sunday of each month at one of three sites along the canal. A variety of tasks including learning to drive a dumper truck to work at our two nature sites on the canal.
