River Explorers

River Explorers

Use the resources that we have provided to help develop your student’s language and understanding of the features of rivers. There will be an opportunity to learn about the rivers we have in the UK as well, including our local river in Milton Keynes - River Ouzel. Finally, challenge them to creatively write about a river, it can be a poem, story or whatever they feel like that’s appropriate.

The aims of these activities are to:

  • Learn terminology about rivers and their formation
  • Understand the water cycle
  • Introduce students to British rivers
  • Encourage creative thinking

Below you can find the resource that will go into further detail. The document is suitable for all primary ages with adaptations listed where necessary.
