Sailing

Are there any budding Sir Ben Ainsle’s out there?
Would you love to learn to sail on Milton Keynes’s most beautiful Lake? With Milton Keynes being named European City of Sport for 2020 and the Olympics in Tokyo this year, we are promoting the fun and enjoyment of Dinghy Sailing in Milton Keynes. Whether you are new to sailing and want to find out about how to get started, or you used to sail and want to get back into it, or perhaps you are a junior excited to learn about the exhilarating sport of dinghy sailing, we can help you at Milton Keynes Sailing Club.
Located in the south of the city, at the fantastic Caldecotte Watersports Centre on Caldecotte Lake, our family friendly, voluntary members club welcomes of all from ages 6 to over 80. We have more family members than individuals, and our junior team programme is going from strength to strength. We even have juniors trained in MKSC who have gone onto represent the country or take up sailing professionally as a career.
Dinghy sailing isn’t expensive, with annual memberships starting from just over £1/week, or our RYA training courses little more than the weekly cost of a cappuccino! If you don’t have a boat, no problem, as the club owns 12 boats available for sailing.
We run heavily subsidised training courses every Spring (from 29th April) and Summer (from 1st July) with our highly skilled instructors to teach RYA approved level 1 and 2 courses. After that, you’re more than capable of sailing on your own or even joining in with the regular racing. We call it racing, but it’s probably more like a gaggle of boats roughly floating in the same direction trying not to bump into each other. Will you get wet – probably! Will you enjoy it – absolutely!
We sail all-day every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon, so if you want to explore if sailing is for you, what you need to get started, or when is the next course, come down and see us at Milton Keynes best kept secret, or check us out online at mksc.org.uk
